    he City Communications Office, a division of the City Manager's Office, receives and disseminates information about the City of Kansas City., Mo., government, services and programs. The staff works closely with City departments and the City Council to provide proactive information to residents and businesses. Read the latest news releases.

    The office also operates the city government channel, KCCG-TV2, with coverage of City Council meetings, special events and original programming, including Ask Your Councilmember, Kansas City 3-1-1, Straight Talk with the Mayor, Pet Connection and Talk of the Town. Kansas City residents with cable access may watch KCCG or anyone may watch online; read the program guide.

    The City Communications Office coordinates the emergency public information function during activations of the City’s Emergency Operations Center to disseminate potentially life-saving information to the public.

    The office conducts a variety of public information activities. These unique projects range from election coverage to producing information materials such as "Know Your City Government."

    The City Communications Office also is responsible for maintaining, updating and consulting various departments on the development of Web pages and information.
