Ask Your Councilmember -- An inside look at what’s going on in each
Councilmember’s district. Shot on location with host Chuck Moore, this
show gives residents in each district the opportunity to ask their councilmembers about issues that affect them.
City Council committee meetings -- Councilmembers serve on special
or standing committees that study pending issues and make recommendations
to the full council. The committees meet on Wednesdays. The City
Council committees are Finance and Audit Committee, Planning and Zoning Committee, Public Safety and Neighborhoods Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
City Council legislative sessions -- The full City Council meets at 3
p.m. every Thursday in the Council Chamber on the 26th floor of City Hall.
The Council introduces, debates and votes on ordinances and resolutions.
City Works -- A video essay series that highlights randomly-selected employee positions.
Kansas City 3-1-1 -- The show highlights how the City of Kansas City, Mo., serves its residents via the 3-1-1 Action Center. Residents are encouraged to call the Action Center when they encounter a non-emergency need. Kansas City 3-1-1 documents the progress of service requests and shows how other City departments are helping to follow up.
On Tap -- showcases the benefits of the use of water. The show provide viewers with valuable information on topics to solve water problems with storm water run-off, keeping the water shed clean and water purification techniques. On Tap also covers numerous programs and projects by the Water Services Department.
Pet Connection -- A 10-minute program shot on location at the Sara Lucito Animal Adoption Center. The program, hosted by Janelle Fanning, is devoted to saving the lives of homeless and unwanted pets through pet adoption. In addition to featured pets, a guest veterinarian or animal care provider from the Animal Control Division gives a pet tip during the program to inform viewers of the health and overall well-being of pets.
Straight Talk with the Mayor -- Taped from the mayor's office on the 29th floor of City Hall, this bimonthly talk show focuses on relevant topics and answers residents' questions. Residents are encouraged to participate by sending questions or comments to straight_talk@kcmo.org.
Talk of the Town -- A weekly talk show that explores the functions and valuable services of various City departments. More on the program.
Youth Beat -- a 30-minute teen talk show that focuses on educating teens about topics like education, health concerns, social issues and other activities. It is shot on location in front of a studio audience at various locations throughout the city. Youth Beat is produced quarterly in conjunction with the Youth Advocacy Office for the City of Kansas City, Mo.
